Artist's Comments

Anyone who has been in the Byward Market in Ottawa has probably seen this guy. He is a young artist who spends his days reproducing pictures in chalk on the sidewalk in front of the store called Candy Mountain. He is truly talented and his work is absolutely phenomenal, just see for yourself. There is a stainless steel bowl near him in which people put money, everytime you put something in, he flashes you a great big thank you smile. Anyone who's ever in Ottawa should drop by the market and support him!

Wow, just wow.
Ive always wanted to do something like that in the center of town.

It must be depressing watching it get washed away though.

Thank you! Yeah that same evening it poured like crazy and he put a tarp over it and when it stopped raining he took it off so it was intact. I guess the drawing stays there until it rains then he makes another one. I'm pretty sure he takes a picture of his drawings when they're done though.

Wow That is so kool, such a talented artist to do that, and I love the idea of how his art will be washed away after is all.

I also love what you have done in this image, giving a nice focus and set of tones and colours!

Frown and Smile at the same time it will do you good!! ;)
:iconradicalpuppy4:
Some dont, actually.

Yes, he really steps out of the ordinary. We don't see very many chalk artists, and even then, that are very good. This guy does a wide range of pictures but it's usually reproductions of paintings like this one.

Thanks for the nice comment!

Thank you! The sky was grey when I took this picture and I found it made everything look so drab so I fixed it up a little!
